You'll have to replace the screen (the screen itself is not repairable.) If you're a diy-er, you can search by the model and make on ebay for a replacement. Approximately 80-150 depending on size and model. Might be more. Several sell new. Be careful, but you are going to have to remove the actual screen from the case to verify model number of the screen, since manufacturers use several different ones in the same model laptop. Video the process so you'll remember when you put it back together. You'll have screws inside and outside the frame. Exterior screws are generally behind the rubber stand-offs/cushions that pad the screen when you close it. Gentle force is recommended. The plastic is very fragile and screws have a tendancy to hide.
If you have a shop do it for you, negotiate a firm price before you start the process.
Once you get a price, you might find that a new laptop, with a warranty, is not that much more. The difference might be what you could sell the old laptop on Ebay or Craigslist.
