my brand new toshiba netbook nb200 shows a red battery light after full charging and after a few hours of being turned off completely. After full charge and complete shutdown, battery is at 80% at startup and requires at least a hour of charging before a green battery light shows.

May be a bad battery or charger.You said new contact toshiba for a replacement.RICHARDM69
