Edgestar AP550Z won't heat, goes into some sort of alert mode
When i turn on my unit it runs for about 2 mins then shuts down and beeps and the red power light flashes. i have shut it down and tried to let it reset it self but i will do the same thing again. i noticed that the exauhst tube had water in it, quite a bit. I thought that this model was suppose to eliminate the need to empty the condensate, is it suppose to blow it out the exauhst hose?
My other unit in another room has a problem with radomly tuning the air conditioner off and just blowing hot air. I typicaly have to leave the unit shut down for 2 days to get the a/c function working again. if i try to restart it any sooner it does the same thing again and again the 2 day rule has been working. any ideas on either one of my problems

Http://edgestar.com/ownersmanuals/AP550Z_wire-fix.pdf This could apply to at least one of your units. Apparently these models have had some trouble with the compressor capacitor wires coming loose. If they're barely touching they could cause the compressor to run intermittently and possibly overheat. The compressor runs in heating and cooling mode.

Hmmmnnn, consider the reason they pulled the rev compatible system off the market. It is possible to be getting the symptoms of YLOD without it actually happening with some games. The older games spun faster(sometimes) and made the system work harder. It could be heating up and shutting down right at the point of failure. I've seen 2 different revers compatible systems YLOD the same way. Good luck.
Please check outdoor unit. Compressor or fan motor getting high amps due to overheat. Clean condenser coil. If still problem, replace running capacitor. If out door fan less rpm replace fan capacitor. In some unit 2 in 1 capacitor is there. So replace one capacitor will rectify fan and compressor problem. Thanks. Helpful?
try rebuilding the database and the file system in recovery consol
to get to the recovery consol press and hold the power button when ps3
is in standby mode(red light) till you hear a double beep. sometimes
the ps3 does a beep then another beep and goes back into standby thsi
is fine just release the power and quikly press and hold it again till
you get double beep.
like on my 80g system it goes like this
ps3 standby...press hold power.......beep .........beep........stanby
again....release and hold power again.......beep .........double
beep...release power now you should be in recovery menu.
Mate if you turn your PS3 off when the hard drive is still operating or the power shuts of while playing a game and the PS3 is collecting or writing data to your hard drive, it will most definitely corrupt or even destroy your hard drive it is very common in PC's to. Hint: 1. Do not shut down your PS3 while it is saving a game or collecting info from the hard drive. Rather quit the game then press your off key with one quick touch and let go of it, it will shut down when it is ready or hold down on the remote's PS button and select switch off system on screen. 2. If you live in a area where the power shuts off for no reason please please get your self a computer UPS(UN-INTERRUPTED POWER SUPPLY). 3. If you replace the hard drive make sure you buy a good quality hard drive like a Western Digital or Seagate.
The yellow light is also know as the yellow light of death casued by a hardware failure. It can be casued ny over heating a bluray drive failure, a hard drive failure or even a powersupply failure. You know you have it when you power up the yellow light flashes then you hear some beeps then the red llight flashes. I would suggest returning it if you have that option or getting it fixed somewhere else as a last option.
do you have it conneting to the wall??? or threw something else???? be specific!!! it sounds like your power is not connected right!!! but explain to me in detail!!! check your connection from your ps3 or try cleaning the port from the connection!!
try holding the power button on the right
side of the console as you turn the back power switch on.Keep on holding the
power button and see if there is a double beep.If this doesn't work, and if you want to try this?
Open the HDD cover on the left side of the unit(front facing you).after removing
the cover, remove the HDD unit and reconnect. It might be a loose HDD connection. This should
only take you 2 mins to do and it won't void your warranty
