Question about EdgeStar Portable Air Conditioner Heater
When i turn on my unit it runs for about 2 mins then shuts down and beeps and the red power light flashes. i have shut it down and tried to let it reset it self but i will do the same thing again. i noticed that the exauhst tube had water in it, quite a bit. I thought that this model was suppose to eliminate the need to empty the condensate, is it suppose to blow it out the exauhst hose?
My other unit in another room has a problem with radomly tuning the air conditioner off and just blowing hot air. I typicaly have to leave the unit shut down for 2 days to get the a/c function working again. if i try to restart it any sooner it does the same thing again and again the 2 day rule has been working. any ideas on either one of my problems
This could apply to at least one of your units. Apparently these models have had some trouble with the compressor capacitor wires coming loose. If they're barely touching they could cause the compressor to run intermittently and possibly overheat. The compressor runs in heating and cooling mode.
