how do i troubleshoot/boot my compaq presario C304NR that won't start? when i turn it on it loads but doesnt go to login instead says ''the system has been shut down'' help!!!!!!!

When booting up press F8 and choose safe mode and see if that will allow you to log in it may also give you a better indication what could be the fault - hardware or software?
