Question about Williams 3003622 Ceramic Wall Mounted Panel Heater

Loud Knocking When my heater kicks on, it makes loud knocking noises while it runs. After is shuts off, it makes loud clicking noises and the knocking continues, yet not as frequently as it does when the heater is on. How do I fix this?

If the noise is not coming from the fan as Buffalo suggests, it is most likely the expansion and contraction of the heat exchanger. The old school way to lessen the noise of expansion is to bank the combustion chamber with a hammer. I don't recommend it today because the metal is so thin (thus all the noise) and you may damage it. You will get used to it and the noise may soften the more it is used. You will never get it to stop.

Evidently when the heater starts it begins to expand the metal surfaces. check to see if anything is interfering with the fan

Oh yea, lifters can be replaced , best if you replace cam an lifters together ! Loud knocking is not usually associated with lifters , they usually make a ticking noise ! Knocking noise is most usually in the bottom of the motor , main or rod bearings . most of the time rod bearings !

check te rubber mounts at the bottom of the compressor
the rubber rots after some time and the compressor moves on shutting down as the knocking could be that noise
