Hello,I hope You can me solve this annoying little problem with my TV. The picture is fine and the sound is fine, but the "AV Label" keeps appearing on screen for no reason,it should appear when changing AV source, but it just keeps appearing by itself, when nobody has touched anything!!! The only upside is that it automatically cancels/disappears by itself too!!! Is it something to do with my Source? (which is Sky Satellite TV). I have checked that everything is connected how the manual says it should be,I have used top quality connectors,I have excellent reception, and signal strength and levels are over 75% on the Signal Test-Digibox. Hope You can help, very much appreciated for your time. Thanks Again-Steven.
The first thing I would do is take the batteries out of the remote and see if the symptom goes away. A bad button on the remote could be sending rong signals. There are other possibilities, but you really should start with the easiest one.

The old video card has seen better days, methinks. All those symptoms lead one to conclude it needs a 'substitute' to enter the field, or call a long TV time out(too much pro and super bowl isms, eh?)..
I hv philips 21RF vardaan TV ,there is sound on AV channel. and the picture is blinking. even some menu setting have changed.. i tried using the service menu but cudnt understand anything. 2 new av channels have come.. av2 and front which were not present before. sound is not coming even on the other channels but picture is fine on them. only on the av1 channel it is blinking., the philips technision had solved this prob once by pressing some code by remote and i don't know the system code
Ours is crapping out just like yours. Picture goes out, "black and white squiggles" appear in the top left of the screen then TV input appears, then it either repeats or gives me my picture back. This happens with both the HDMI slots (tested all 3) and both Component slots. Seems like the bulb or a circuit board on the TV is faulty. What a piece of ****, never spending another dime on LG products. I did get it to come back by hitting the back of the TV with a good slap, but it gets really annoying.
I had the same problem with my tv, same make and model. I first continuously turn on and off my tv manually until I could get some kind of picture. This procedure took maybe five minutes. I was able to get a fine picture and sound, as if it was brand new! Other things to keep in mind, try to eliminate dust build up as much as possible.. Hope this helps out...
civilman, the first set has either no high voltage or is collapsed vertically, until someone checks for high voltage there is no concrete answer, the AV27730 is vertical collapse from your description, either the voltage to the vertical IC is missing or the vertical IC has failed, not a big deal cost-wise, hope this answers your questions, if not e-mail me back, good luck, BMW Rider
This is called BURN IN.
BURN IN usually occurs when any one picture remains on the screen for an excessive amount of time. To my knowledge, there is no way to remove these annoying "brandings," however, they can easily be avoided by changing the channel on the TV, or not leaving the TV powered on continuously (especially on just one channel).
