Compaq Presario freezes at Windows XP screen no task manager

I am trying to sort a friends old Compaq Presario 2500 laptop that gets as far as the Windows XP blue screen then freezes. No logonor task bar appears and you cannot get the task manager. Just absolutley nothing. I have gone through safe mode & safe mode by command prompt and that did nothing either. It was working fine until she copied a cd with some family photos on to it and then on next start could not get in.I'm at a loss now and don't know enough to try anything else so any help would be great. Thanks

This is due to the Virus which was go into ur friends laptop when photos were copied. So i best suggest is that try to get into safe mode. If u can get the command prompt : there type taskmgr for opening task manager . go to Run --> type explorer and then enter.by doing this u can find the icons on the desktop . From there install a good antivirus. i suggest u Kaspersky Internet Security . scan ur computer and remove all the virus. If this also failed u then format your laptop

Compaq presario 2500

at that xp screen the computer loads all of the drivers and windows components. is is possible that something recently installed was not good or something has become corrupted. reboot the computer and as it is coming up continually tap the f8 key. you will get to the windows advanced options menu. choose the option for last known good configuration. if this doesnt solve your problem you may need to reinstall windows on this computer.

Wireless in c770tu compaq

if unable to find a driver, go out and buy a usb wireless adapter, they are fairly cheap now.

Make sure you disable your old one under device manager

Problems booting up--no access to toolbars, etc. on XP

Hi,

To resolve this issue, simple trick is, when it stands at the wallpaper without Start menu and Task bar, Press Alt + Ctrl + Del keys

Then select TaskManager.

In the Task manager, select Process Tab.

Under that select Windows Explorer process and select End

Again click on File menu in the same Window and select New Task.

Type Explorer.exe in the blank and click okay--OK

That should bring the complete screen.

Buy a new computer, with Windows 8, to replace your old 'XP' system.
