I downloaded mp3 songs from internet and I would like to apply them as ring tones and as ringer IDs. For some ring tones that come with the phone I see Options > Apply As > Ring Tone, and for some I don't. What do I do?

I had the same problem, but editing the filed to make them shorter did not solve it.

Same Problem. I can apply some mp3's as ringtones and others I can't. can someone help me please?
I have sent 2 partial songs to my phone via bluetooth and cannot see a way to set them as ring tones. I'm on a Mac...so I reduce the size to 30 seconds in Garage Band and it still didn't work. The only other thing I can think of is that it's an Mp4 not Mp3....but it's still able to play as a song file, it just won't let me make it a ringtone! I've read some help pages that tell you to delete certain files, but they show it on a PC....I need Mac help please!
