I get an error light and a message to remove paper from scanner. There is no paper in the scanner. What is causing this and how can I fix this error?

Same problem, cleaned everything but to no avail

  • Anonymous Jul 02, 2008

I have the same error. I've cleaned the sensors and rollers as instructed, then using the user utility, cleared the counters and still have the same problem. Everything apprears to be in place and there was never any paper jammed or left in the scanner. Is there any way to fix this or is the machine busted?

Same problem. Have turned on, turned off, opened door, closed door - no paper is stuck, yet the machine insists there is a paper jam and refuses to work. Help?

same exact problem, no solution here. Please help!

Same problem with mine. I try wiping down with alcohol swabs and using a compressed air canister to blow out any dust. Usually after doing these things and waiting, it will start working...only to go thru it again the next time I want to scan.

I have this same problem every time I unplug my Panasonic KV-2026C. I've lost the original disk with the utilities, and the Panasonic web site says, they only provide the disk with the original equipment. You know, I'll never buy another Panasonic product. But I'm usually able to get the ready light to come back on by doing the following. I use a clean cloth that is soaked in Rubbing Alcohol (not nail polish remover, but pure rubbing alcohol). I basically open up the back, and clean each roller. There are two green tabs at the top of the back of the scanner. These need to be opened up (be careful, because the parts sort of fall out if you're not careful, and they are difficult to re-assemble). Again, wipe everything down with the rubbing alcohol. Close up the upper tabs. Make sure you wipe down the glass slits on both the door (front-of-the-page scanning port) and on the unit itsel (back-of-the-page scanning port). Before you close up the back door, let it sit for about 5 minutes, allowing the rubbing alcohol to evaporate. I also connect the scanner to the laptop and get the "blip" sound from Windows to recognize the scanner. I don't know if that's important or not. Then I say a healthy prayer, plug it back in and shut the back door. If there is a god on duty that day, the ready light comes on, and stays on as long as I have the power connected. I just went through the process and it worked!!!! The minute the power is off, the error light stays on. Good luck, my friends! Joe Diehl, Seattle WA

I have the same issue with my Panasonic...and do the same routine as Joseph Diehl, but add a little bit. In addition to rubbing alcohol, i used can spray on the whole back "inside" portion of the machine. I also rub the sensors and reflective "mirrors" which usually helps. Normally i can get it to work, every once in a while it needs a days rest...and then it works. Sometimes it just needs to be turned on in the early morning, opened up, sit there and warm up, and then used later on in the day! Good luck...a lot of voodoo goes into making this machine stay in operation mode.

Epson BX600FW Photocopier saying paper jam and we can't see any.

When you removed the jammed paper, did the paper come out inone piece, if not did all the pieces that were removed make up the entire sheetof paper?
Otherwise there may be still a small piece/s of paper still in the printer, which is causing this error message. A paper jamb could be caused by dirty orsticky rollers, also failure to remove all traces of paper from a previouspaper jamb.
Check for tiny pieces of at the edges of the rollers, and remove these piecesof paper.
Try cleaning the rollers with methylated spirits

Printhead carriage jam facult is showing. No jam, I tried calling the help line. I still have the printhead error fault.

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

My Documate 152 is saying paper jam but no paper jam

E08 error message which indicates papert jam is caused by lose or mis-alligned input paper tray (automatic document feeder).
Resolve issue by powering off the scanner, opening the paper path section, removing the adf, and then re-seating the adf.

I have a toshiba EStudio 162 error message L100-00 how do I fix

Hi:

If the error code is an L-1 the most lokely cause is the scanner lock on your machine is engaging with the scanner assy. Bend down and look at the left front corner of the copier right inside of the area where you grab your copies. You should see a clear round plastis knob. This has to be in the fully unlocked position If it is partly turned then this can be stalling your scanner assy and throwing the error code your seeing.

Good Luck
