Question about Pioneer AVH-P7480DVD Car DVD Player

1 Answer

Can not change SOURCE to DVD or CD

When I load in a CD or DVD I can not change the source from TUNER to DVD or CD. The disk spins and appear to be playing but I can not switch to the SOURCE to watch or listen.

When I connect the AVM output on the DVD player to AUX video in on the brain i can change the SOURCE to AUX and watch the video using the AUX but there is no sound. This is true with CD's as well. Therefore I know the DVD/CD player is good. I might have a setting or cable wrong but I can not figure it out.....

sounds like you might have the wire that is always supposed to have power hooked to a switched power source

is it possible you hooked up power wires wrong

sounds like switched wire is hooked to battery and battery connection is hooked to switched source

only other option would be if ground is hooked incorrectly it should be hooked diretly to clean non painted metallic spot on cars body

if you need more help give me more details and i will try to help more

On my ddx512 y does my amp not turn on when i pick usb as my source but does when the tuner is the source?

sounds like you are using the antenna turn on wire (solid blue) instead of the amp remote wire (blue/white stripe) to turn your amp on.

Kenwood kvt m700- playing cds

The M700 is purely a monitor so you will not be able to control play, pause, stop, skip, FF or RWD. I use my DVD player as a CD player and have to use the DVD remote to change tracks.

you have the amp remote wire hooked to the power antenna lead instead of the amp wire on the deck otherwise just hook it to a switched +12 volt source. You sure you got a DVD changer instead of just a cd changer

When my headlights come on my cd/dvd player screen turns blue

First of all your system is wired incorrectly. The person who wired it up is using either a power or remote signal from a light switch. That's NOT good. To correct find proper remote wire or you can use a power source that turns off when you turn ignition off and remove it from the Head light switch wires. Easy to find use a test light and check for power wire when ignition is on and No power when ignition is off. Good Luck contact if you need more help. Thanks for using FIX YA

Can listen to tuner but not mp3 or cd/ dvd

Make sure you are not using the power antenna lead to trigger the amp for your mid/highs, I just had this issue with the oem amp in my truck. When I chose any other source other than radio everything would die except bass. I used the ant lead for the amp for my door speakers and the amp trigger for my sub amp.

Myron & davis dvd problem

This indicates that the DVD Player is unable to detect any disk inserted in the DVD Player Compartment. Check the player using a known playable DVD and Music CD. If these operate normally, the Disk is probably faulty. If the known disk does not play, clean the DVD Laser lens as detailed elsewhere in these FAQs and try again. If unsuccessful, check that the DVD LID is seating properly and latching in the fully closed position. If this does not work and the product is within the warranty period, simply return it to the retailer from where it was bought together with your receipt as proof of purchase.
This is what I found about your unit.
If it is under warranty, the best thing is to bring it in for repair or replacement.
Disconnect the power from the source and hook back up. It may clear.

Source Keeps Switching To Standbye

There's nothing in the wiring that could cause this problem; sounds like a fault in the faceplate. I would say the unit needs to be serviced.
