When this monitor failed, I only had it for a few months it seemed. There was no response from pressing the power button and I had no knowledge of the capacitor problem until tonight.When I opened up the shell and got to the boards, I saw 2 blown CapXon 1000 uF 10v caps: C824 and C822. I'm going to replace them tomorrow and see if that works.
Looked very similar to my problem except that my caps didn't rupture.

- Yes!! It worked :) Today I replaced C822 and C824 with two '1000 uF 35v' from Radio Shack. They only had 2 or I would have replaced the third capacitor as well. Ty all for the great advice! :D
