Wash machine won't spin.

My Frigidaire ATFB6000ES also will not spin in any cycle etc. The error code (E47) indicates that the machine thinks the door is open, due either to a faulty "door closed" switch or that the conbtrol board is defective.

New door switch costs $83. New control board costs $285.

See the Frgidaire website http://www.frigidaire.com/manuals and seelct the "wiring diagram" manual - it has very useful information for how to see and interpret additional error codes.

For what it is worth, I think my door switch is fine. So intead of buying the $285 control board, I am leaning torwards buying a new machine.

If you want you can jump the switch out by taking the wires off the switch and put electrical tape around them together really tight and see if that works if so its your switch thats bad

What is error code e47?

Hey Ervin, thanks for your inquiry!
From the information you have provided your Frigidaire washer is displaying an error code of "E47". An "E47" error code means that the board thinks the door circuit is open in spin. This could be potential issue with the door lock or main control board. A reset could help correct this issue and to perform a reset you would need to disconnect power from it for at least ten minutes. We hope this information is helpful to some degree. -Matt

WHY DO I GET ERROR E47 WHEN THE SPIN CYCLE IS SUPPOSED TO START?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand you are receiving an E47 when the spin cycle is supposed to start, on your Frigidaire Affinity washer, model# ATF7000E. The E47 code states that the control board of you appliance thinks that the door is open. This could also be a false error code. I suggest resetting your washer, by either unplugging it or shutting the power of at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Once power is restored, start any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Won´t spin at all in any cycle

Goto http://www.frigidaire.com/manuals and download the model wiring diagram. It will explain how to view and interpret additional error codes. I have the exact same issue with my machine (will not spin). The error code #E47 indicates that the machine thinks the door is open and will not engage spin. Fixes: new door switch ($85) or new control board ($285).

My washer wont do the spin cycle. everything else work fine but no spin

Hi,
The reason the washer won’t spin is due to the either of the latches on the door.
This model uses a two stage lock that latches the door when the load starts, and then when it is time to spin, the second lock engages to ensure the door is properly secured prior to beginning the spin. When this second lock engages, it also closes a set of switch contacts (the auxiliary door switch) telling the control board the door is closed and locked. If for some reason this switch is not closed, the washer will tumble during what would normally be the spin cycle until the entire cycle is complete.
On the entire Frigidaire ATFxxxxxxx line of front load washers, if the secondary door lock fails, the unit will not spin. If you suspect this is the reason your washer is not spinning, do a check of the error log and you will find an E47 error has been logged. This error indicates the control board thinks the wax motor has failed because the auxiliary switch never closed. The customer will not see this error in the display, but it will be stored in memory. A quick resistance check of the wax motor will tell you if it has failed. Expect 1K to 1.5K of resistance from most of the wax motor heaters.

After finding the E47 error stored in memory, I would request you that the switch be removed from the outer door seal spring so you could pull the switch out the front. A quick resistance check showed the wax motor was open electrically so it was no longer working. Install a new switch assembly
, reattached all the wires along with the door seal. And now the washer will wash and spin.

My washer wont spin

Frigidaire front loader model # GLTF2940ES3.

Cycle ended prior to spin segment. Checked error code history to find E47 fault. Troubleshot per manual. Found that the "PTC one-spot check" read ~1582ohms. Although the book indicates that this is sufficient and recommends (rather tells) you to replace the control board we were still skeptical seeing as this is a ONE POINT check on a device that is non-linear. We went with the lesser of two evils. Purchased and replaced a new door lock. Works again! Phew, that could have been costly.
