Problem for Rancilio Silvia Espresso Machine

Silvia keeps brewing after shutting off

For the first time, my 5-year-old Silvia continued to gurgle out steam water through the brew head AFTER I shut it off following a shot. That is, it continued to brew, after I pushed the button to stop it. I suspect some kind of a seal failure, but I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas?

maybe cooffe termostat is bad and overheating
