Re: black ink is reading empty
This might be due to generic ink. The -wrong- ink will clog the micro filter infront of the nozzels. This cant be fixed anymore.
BUT you might try the following:
(the carts should be nearly full because the procedure will consume some ink)
make sure that the cart is placed well and secured.
press menue then start mono (black copy button) then fourtimes arrow-up button (tel.index). machine will be in maintenance mode. press 7 then 6 then 4 then start mono. machine will refresh tubes and ph with fresh ink and do some cleaning procedure. after maintenance is shown again press 7 then 6 then 3 and start mono to run a power purge. Leave maintenance after machine has finished by pressing 9 then 9. Run a quality test print by pressing ink etc.
If you still cant see any BK the ph is definitly clogged and has to be replaced.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Are you sure its exclamation mark?.. This warning message related to print head. (warn out). When you are replacing ink tube assembly use dummy print heads to do the priming (new ink tubes are empty & they have to fill with ink).. Action: Remove all cartridges and print heads, switch on the printer follow the screen message.(Insert cartridges first next dummy print heads).once its recognizes cartridges then it switch over to print heads, insert dummy print heads. Once printer recognized the dummy print heads, printer will perform priming, during priming dummy print heads will filled with respective inks.(follow the display message)Remove dummy print heads & insert normal print heads. Wait till printer recognizes print heads, load the paper & wait till performs the calibration, once calibration is successfully done issue closed. If calibration not successfully done, check align print out for which print head is not printed properly, replace it.. Pl ensure that minimum 50% ink levels required in cartridges before performing the priming. Best of luck..
Remove and then replace the black ink. Make sure you remove any sealing tape that may be covering holes in the ink cartidge. While the ink cartidge is removed, you might also want to give it good shake. Finally, the cartrice may juat have been too old - they age even when in the packaging, and most have an expiry date.
This sounds like a defective cartridge. I would first try changing to another new black ink cartridge (preferably OEM) to eliminate the printhead as the culprit. If this was an aftermarket or reloaded cartridge it is probably defective.
Let me know if we have to troubleshoot further. Thanks.
Check your black ink cartidge. it may be empty.change it with new balck cartridge this problem may also be due to cartidge holder
. clean cartrideg holder with moist cotton with
petrol or some other cleaning liquid as nail polish remover. clean properly the
cartirdge socket and mainly the contact point of cartridge socket
Color printer have sofware installed which stops all printing inless their is ink in all containers. No, their is no way around it. Someone would be rich making a kit to do so. since I see this question over and over at least once a week.
Sounds like your orginal driver installation has become corrupted. Try this: completely remove unit and its software from your computer, not forgetting to unplug all cables. Go to the folling url(copy and paste in the address bar) for the latest software for your unit. It's easiet if you create a new folder on your desktop and name it mp530 drivers, save down load here. Install software first, reboot and plug your cables in, windows will reconize new hardware and install it for you or it may ask if you have installation disk or installation file, click yes and direct download to the folder you created for your new drivers. I hope this helped a little, if not, hit me back, we have other options.
Regarding your problem: If one of the color ink cartidges is out of ink, the MFC 240C printer will not operate when you only install a black ink cartidge. It requires that all four catridges have ink available in them for it to function. When you examine a cartridge it may appear that it has a little ink in it when you get message that the cartridges needs to be replaced because a little ink remains to prevent the print head from drying out. Some of Epson's cartridges went bad that way. It may be a bad cartridge. Get a new one, pull that one out and see what happens. If it works, call Epson for a refund. They had a class action suit for that type of thing, they lost and paid off. I would think they will help you right away.
