Agitator dose dose not agitate

Check your dog agits they are inside of the agitator, remove the cap with a flathead screwdriver then you should see a 7/16 bolt remove in order to pull out the agitator.

The auger does not spin with the agitator. saw a video on changing the agitator dogs from another Series 80 it the same with this model too?

Usually changing the dog agits are the same on each model of the same brand. With the model number I can tell you exactly how to change the dog agits.

The agitator in my 1999 Kenmore Model no 110 29852992 does not work. It does not move. Can you explain why and tell me if there is a part that needs replacing? Thank you

Does it still spin and try to wash? If so try moving your agiatator clockwise a full turn and counterclockwise. If you can without it locking than your dog agits are out. Agitator dogs is also another name for them. Part is number 5. You do not have to go through this site it helps cus it gives you a brakedown and a diagram.

If you need any further assistance please feel free to contact.

Kenmore 80 series( older one ) not spinning out properly. Seen traces off oil on bottom trans.

The oil is a sign of a failing transmission, I would check the direct drive coupling for broken
pins and also replace the "dog agits" located under the cover on the agitator. You have to take out the bolt in the center to lift the upper portion of the agitator to replace these. They are designed to wear out to prevent transmission breakage. They cost around 5 dollars for a set. Model and serial are under the lid back by the control panel.
If the dog agits do not solve the problem, and the coupler is intact then the transmission
is failing. Hope this helps.

Trying to replace dog agits of kenmore washer, how do I remove upper part of agitator to put in new dogs.

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

If the bottom agitates and not the top, the problem is likely the 4 "agitator dogs" designed to allow the top agitator to turn only one way.

Look at the section on the Sears site for Agitator, basket and tub.

See the part "Dog, agitator "

Remove the fabric softener unit, lift the top agitator cap (use a screwdriver) and you should see a plastic part in the center of the top agitator with a 1/2" square drive. (I've used a 1/2" adapter for a 3/8" socket drive)

Remove the drive and lift off the top agitator. Turning it over you should see the 4 "dogs", replace these and the top agitator should turn in one direction only.

Replace the 1/2" drive, the cap and fabric softener unit and the top agitator should work.

Also see the following illustrated description of the above.

On mine I pulled on the fabric softener plastic top.And under it was a cap. I pulled the cap off and looked inside to see a bolt (I think it was a 1/2" size. I needed a 1/2" socked and a 6" long extension and took the bolt completly loose. Righty tighty ,Lefty loosey. Then I just pulled up on big center plastic part and the dogs are under it. I hope this helps you.

Washer will not aggitate all other functions work fine

Sounds like you need a set of dogs...(dog agits)...

Pop the top off the agitator and remove the bolt. Pull the agitator top off and inspect the dogs...(small tear drop shaped pieces of nylon)...

Sounds like the dogs lost their bite aka teeth.

Replacing dog agits

Should be a plastic insert that you have to turn counter clock wise till you can pull out. Then remove top section of agitator. then with a socket 9/16 deep socket remove the nut. When you remove nut the bolt may come with it thats ok, then you can remove agitator. good luck
