Hi are you trying to play a copy or original.

If it is original then the chances are you need to get a lense cleaning disk and use that and it will remove any dust.

If you can hear the disk spinning and you are using a copied disk then it might be that you dont have the right software to play the file that is on the disk if somebody made the dick and copied it using certain programmes then if you dont have this programme on your computer then the disk wont read.

Also have you tried using dvds that you know work on your computer? if you have and these dont play either the try cleaning the lense with lense cleaning disk.

If still dont work then the problem is a software problem related to your dvd player you might have downloaded some software or programme that has over written the software you have been using if this is the case you will need to reinstall the software for that make of dvd player.

Let me know how you get on ok

Cd won't play

Use a DVD authoring software package to burn it - most DVD players need the information in DVD Format, so "VIDEO_TS" and "AUDIO_TS" folders need to be there with video in VOB Format. I recommend IMTOO DVD Creator 6 or above. Drag video in, and click burn. Taaah Daahhh a working dvd pops out. Use DVD-R discs for best compatibility and you should be fine :)

I have a dvd player - DV200MW8. I have files on my computer in avi format. What formats will this dvd player play?

This DVD player only supports DVD and Audio CD format. There is no Divx decoder so your avi. files wont play on this player. It does not even support MP3 music files.

My dvd player doesn't support wmv, avi, dat, mpeg, mp4 or 3gp. What should i do

This DVD player is supposed to support:

Supported Audio Formats Audio CD, MP3
Supported Video Formats DVD
Number of Audio Channels 4 Channels
Included Units In-Dash Player, In-Dash Monitor, Amplifier
Supported Media Types DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-R, CD-RW
Monitor Size 6.5 inch
Touch Panel With Touch Panel

Just stick with these formats and it should work fine...are you trying to view burned movies or something. From the looks of it, it should play any DVD or CD just fine. Try to steer clear of those formats you listed.

Mine is Sony DVD player..I insert a disc and it says "CAN NOT PLAY THE DISC" and then the player shuts off. The other DVD works fine.

Check the manuel some DVD Players do not support DVD RW or -R +R formats. When Ifirst put my burned movie in I got the message that the player cant play that format Just ignore that and advance the Video to where the movie is starting then all my burned movies played fine. My Pioneer BD 51 FD does support DVD RW +R -R formats so be sure that you can play burned DVD RW +R -R on your Sony player. I was in Wal Mart the other day and they had some DVD players on sale but on the box it said that they do not play DVD RW +R or -R Burned DVD's so be careful if you do buy another one I went to best buy and found mine. Check first it will save a lot of hassle later. This software works great but it may not play in your DVD Sony Player there is a list here of compatible DVD Players

your disc is scratched or a pirated one

Very little information hadeks. You inserted a DVD & formated it or inserted a DVD/ RW disk & formated it. Burned some music/video to it & now it does not play. The only type of DVD that needs formated is a DVD/RW.

Make sure your PC supports the format. If your PC does not support the format, music or video your PC will not play it.
ex: mp3, wma, avi & mpeg ect.
Take a look at these two links. They may help you to understand formats for DVD's.

Any questions? Feel free to ask.
Good luck!

Playing recordable dvd

Your player may only be able to play DVD-format discs. Try converting the video with Nero or WinAvi or DVDFlick to true DVD format.
