There is frost build-up behind the drawers in the freezer. It seems like it's effecting the performance...I believe the model is C16....30", and freezer on the bottom. Thanks

You have a defrost problem. If you do not plan to fix your self. You can take the back panel out from inside the freezer. Use a hair dryer and defrost then replace the panel. This will allow you unit to work normally for around 3 to 4 days. Anough time to get someone out to fix. If you plan to repair it your self. when you get it defrosted, ohm your heater that is found installed within your coils inside the freezer. If no continuity they are bad. Replace them. Also check you termination thermostat. They sometimes go bad. Most of the time it's the heaters. There is a slight chance that it could be the timer but with the new models that have the PC Board timers it's not likely.

Frost and ice are building up on the right side of the freezer drawer, including the tracks. I can chip it away and get rid of it but it just comes right back. The air vents do not seem to be blocked.

Hello, Make sure there is no leak at the door gasket! This is the most common reason for this type of frost in the freezer on drawer and racks. Make sure the gasket is sitting flat and not damaged.

Icing up

I've just had a similar problem. I fixed it by removing the large panel on the back of the inside of the freezer. I found a large build up of ice at the bottom of the freezer which seems to have developed because the drain hole at the bottom of the freezer was blocked. I defrosted the ice, cleared the drain and now the freezer is working fine.

If the door has a gap, certainly ice build up will occur on the evaporators and block the air flow which will just accumulate more and more if you don't defrost it first. make sure the doors always shut.
