I want to upgrade the PCI Graphics card for my (Phoenix Bios D888)U8668-DD motherboard. What are the latest graphics cards I can get for it?

Hi there! You can only use PCI graphics on your motherboard, so the best card you can get is a GeForce 8400 by NVIDIA. Jaton makes an excellent card with 1GB of VRAM - it's $194. Here is a link to the card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814139047 It is one of the few PCI cards you can get with that much VRAM. You could also look at a GeForce 6200 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814139037 Or a Radeon HD 4350 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814129156 Best of luck! No bootup when installing a Geforce 6200 PCI-e

Check how card is attached to PCIx16 port right?

It should be that one. Check connections, this problem is usually caused by not propperly attached card ,or outdated version of bios.

Hi, Have a Acer Veriton M464, fully up to date Bios, Chip, the works. Bought a nice cheap graphics card to mess around with "XFX nVidia GeForce 8500GT" Inserted into my PCI slot, Vista won't detect it,...

Hello,

Its possible that your video card is not compatible with your motherboard. Yes, this sometimes happens, the board manufacturer needs to update their BIOS if this kinds of things happen. Another possibility is that you have a bad graphics card. If its Brand new then its probably a lemon. Go to your friends house and test your graphics card and see if it works. This would isolate the problem.

I hope this helps. Have a nice day.

I can't install a GeForce 6200 graphics card

Also, if that card has dual outputs, such as 2 DVI connectors, try connecting your monitor to the other one.

Want to disable onboard graphics to install and use pci vga card

During the initial boot sequence (as soon as you turn your PC on), try pressing <DEL> button (or F2 or F10 - you will see info on the bottom of the screen stating something like "Press _____ (del, F2, F10) to go to Setup..."

This will take you to BIOS, main setup panel for your PC.
There you can find and option for switching your main GFX card.
Options will be something like: onboard, pci, agp. You should choose
PCI.

Try doing this after you insert your new PCI gfx in your computer.

Good luck,

Milan

Geforce 6200 PCI is not running some games after installation

not sure of the game but pci graphics cards are not for gaming, that pc is a bit old- you need a pci express graphics card to game thses days. Also the 6200 is very weak as a gpu and very old- Nvidia is now in the 10th series of cards. Get a new computer definately with a core 2 duo cpu and at least a nvidia 8500gt grapgics card

Want to disable onboard graphics to install and use pci vga card

You should be able to turn it off by booting the pc up into the Bios and changing your video settings to AGP.

Have you installed the latest direct X9 and have you completely uninstalled the last graphics card driver ad re-started your pc, if you had one previously as this can conflict. There must be a major driver problem as video's can be played on the most basic of graphics card. The only other problem may be the NVIDIA chip is not compatible with the motherboard, as i have had this in a number of cases before and had to replace with an ATI chip based card.
