Had a similar problem after loading a suspect dvd (one I had buned myself) Could not do anything - stuck at loading.
Try this :

  1. Unplug and wait 10 seconds
  2. plug it back in and wait 1 minute. DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS!
  3. With the machine still in the standby state, press eject on the REMOTE. It should eject without trying to read the disk.

Good luck. It worked for me.

Acer 4520 Dead, Blank screen , No response...

It sounds like something on the motherboard has possibly shorted out. That can range from the CPU to RAM to the DVD. If it's still under warranty I would suggest sending it in for repair.

If you do send it in, please let them know to backup your harddrive if they have to reformat and restore it for any reason. Your important files are still there and safe.

Eject botton does not respond

there is a tiny drive belt connecting a small motor to the loading tray.when they stretch, they run but do not open the door.if that is the case, putting your ear on the machine while hitting the eject button will enable you to hear the loading motor running inside.if you do not hear anything,it is a different problem

The DVD tray doesnt eject

either it is the ribbon wire, the motor that ejects the tray or the belt that connect the tray and motor is the problem. In case the above three are fine, replace the drive as the sparking might kill your moterboard.

Dvd stuck in conia clcd1930

To Eject the DVD, my conia clcd1930 needs to be in "DVD" mode. This Mode appears to activate power to the entire DVD module. So the Eject button will only work in this mode.

DVDR 3350H KEEP READING AND WON'T EJECT DISC

Look under the faceplate where the disc tray ejects and see if there is a small hole. If so, use a straightened paper clip to eject the disc manually by pushing it into the hole about an inch. If that works, then reset the power on the unit and try a nonrecorded type disc to see if the unit works at all.

Other than that, you'll have to take the unit apart to get your disc out.

Hope that helps...

Dvd hr720

Had a similar problem after loading a suspect dvd (one I had burned myself) Could not do anything - stuck at loading. Don't remember if the fan was running. From what I have read these units are touchy to bad disks (DVD or HDD) If yours has a DVD inserted try this :
