is it coming out like flooding up or is water just forming on the tops of the registers?

Go outside and see if you can spot a plug up in the drain tube. Some insects will build nests inside the proper size tube and plug it up so that condensation generated by normal operation is not allowed to drain from the unit. Other times, fungus or algae will cause the plug up.
Your plug up may be internal to the machine as well. This might be relieved by swabing out the plug up from outside by means of a fine flexible cable or weed wacker line - be careful!! Drain lines are often hidden very well requiring great detective skills.
