Re: direct source

I downloaded the manual from some site 5 min. after I posted and it was simple. Turn the reciever off, then press and hold the enter button while you turn it back on. It worked, no problem...

Re: direct source

Plug in a headphone into the receiver and that will get it out of direct source mode without loosing you settings by doing the factory reset.

Pioneer 409 setting up for surround sound

I think there is a switching problem in the surround receiver. I would take the receiver to a qualified servicer. There is nothing user serviceable in the unit. Question .Why are you using optical output from ps3. I recommend you connect all you a/v devised to the tv. Then connect the opt out of tv to receiver. that way what ever you are viewing will send audio via opt out of tv to receiver. that way you do not have to switch input on receiver. Hope this helps.

Need directions on how to hook system up to tv

Check the back of the system, you will find Video out, then Audio out (left and right). Connect the yellow cord to video out, and the white & red to Audio out appropriately.

Then connect the other end of the yellow cord to "Video in" at the back of the TV, then the red and white to audio in at the back of the TV.

After connecting as directed above, turn on the TV, then turn on the system. On the TV remote control, press "AV" or "Source" depending on what is written on the remote and there should be a display. If there is no display, press the "AV" or "Source" on the remote once or twice more and there should be a display of the receiver's welcome screen on the TV. You might also need to press "Source" on the system's remote if there no display.

Let me know if you don't av display even after following the above steps. The above is the correct way of connecting so it should work.

Note; The White and Red cords stands for Audio left and right, while the yellow cord stands for Video. The yellow is suppose to allow your system display on the TV screen, while the Red and White is to bring out sound.

I hope the above helps.

Good luck.

How do I get my rear speakers louder

If they have been set up correctly according to the directions under USING BASIC MENU on page 20 of the manual, they should be okay, but you might want to make them louder using the same procedure but cheating them to be louder than the rest.

For temporary, on-the-fly adjustment, page 26 has this for adjusting any individual speaker while listening to a music source:

Press AMP on the remote and then press LEVEL repeatedly to select the desired speaker.

Find the rest on page 26.

Analog output from digital input for Denon AVR 3803

On the Denon AVR-888 (and I presume others), you have to put the unit in "record" mode. This is covered under "Other Operations and Functions" in the manual. Here are the steps:
1. On the front of the unit, press the zone2/rec select button
2. Turn source select until "recout source" is displayed
3. Turn source select to choose the input source

Hope this helps.

The menu button on my remote doesn't work

Try replacing batteries. If that doesnt work try aiming directly at Receiver's sensor. If all the other functions work except the menu see if you can access menu directly from the unit itself. If it works then you might need to replace the remote

I can't set the clock on a DEH0-2050MPG car radio. When I press function as the manual says to, only 2 options appear, and neither have anything to do with the clock. What do I do?

If the function button does not work to set the clock, you have to turn the radio off, and hold down the source button until the clock appears. When the Clock appears, you can set it by using the four smaller buttons around the source button.
