Question about GoVideo R6740 DVD Recorder
Will not respond to open/close button on machine or remote. I hear a sound as if the door is trying to open but it doesn't. I have unplugged the machine to reset it (done this a few times) but doesn't help. What else can I try? Thanks.
Belt is loose or gear is broke, if out of warranty you can try to force it or open the cover and see if you can push the door.

The "custom" door on this product is poorly designed ( in the long term usage sense ) . It has a tendency to stick , especially in humid environments.
At any rate the problem can be fixed by disassembling the unit and freeing the door by removing the lite-on dvd burner from the inside . It is not particularly easy but with a little care it can be done .. If you try to pry the door open or break the outer door off it is very likely you will also break the dvd burner .
I personally left the cludgy outer door off . it doesn't look great but it works again .
