Question about Kenmore 24902 Top Load Washer
I recently moved into a new house and in in short distance of travel between houses something went wrong. my washer will work fine as far as fill up, but it does not turn. i here the motor kick in but there is no movement. i dont hear any grinding, or any other rough type noises. only as if the motor is spin freely with a little friction. cant really diagnose when looking at it from the bottom, not my area of expertise. please help, wife is going crazy.
Sounds like the joint coupler is broke from motor to drive simple 5 dollar item and about 1/2 hour labor to replace its a do it your self job easy to replace but heres another problem that i ran into before you got some material stuck in the water pump that could be the whole problem sometimes people pack washer above the tub then it goes into the water pump
i pulled out my girls sock out of the water pump easy fix tip up washer put something under washer so dont rock foward pull off hoses and then water pump look inside if theres something stuck in there use a pair of needle nose pliars to pull out easy then put back together

Almost sounds like a timer or timer motor problem. Could also be a loose wiring harness around the timer. When you said it when into spin, but the next day, did the timer move at all during the "break". Usually, a lid switch will give off that "tell-tale" clicking sound when lifting the lid. See if it makes this noise, but it really doesnt sound like a lid switch issue. Really sounds like a dead spot, or spots, in the timer. Let me know. Jim
