The unit blew the 2.5A fuse on the PSU board in the subwooker. A replacement blows instantly. I can't find anyone who can supply a manual / circuit diagram.

- It's a Hitachi AX-M128. The fuse is one of 3 in the low tension side of a toroidal transformer. The transformer has two windings, one with a centre tap (and heavier guage wire), and another with wire that looks like 16/0.2. The fuse is in the second (non-centretapped) winding. I guess that the centretapped winding supplies the power amplifiers, which are located in the subwoofer, and the second winding powers the head unit which contains the DVD drive, the display, the video outputs and the controls. Without the head unit plugged in, there is no measurable short to ground. Unfortunately, I have run out of fuses to do any more tests with!
hi, please indicate the make and model of your unit, maybe, shorted load after the fuse or other electronic components. or try identifying what is connected after the fuse, is it a transformer type?

I have a Seeburg MCU3 Prelude - had is repaired a couple of months ago...it worked fine...I have not played in in about a month and the part that actually plays the records won't turn or move from side to side. Does it need to be played on a constant basis to continue to work?
