That is the master clamper area. Take off the rear cover. From the rear it is on the right. There is a motor and a rack gear that moves to open the drum master clamper when removing and loading a master. With the back cover removed, try to make a master while watching that assembly. You can also put the drum in and drive the motor by hand to watch and see if opens the drum clamper.

Lanier LP235c display says Add Yellow toner

Try removing the toner cartridge and gently cleaning the electrical contacts for the sensor. Sometimes they get toner residue on them and give false readings.

We have a photocopying machine in our office LANIER 7216. Since 3 years we have been using another brand which has more capabilities, but now it's not working and service personel took it for mending....

i dont have knowledge of lanier machines.but the ultimate answer to ur question is that remove the button cell from the main board of the machine for 30 min and then power on the machine without it.refit the cell and wola the password is broken as in other machines

Where is the toner waste on the Lanier LD445C?

The only reference to "waste" is the punch waste. I could not find the "Toner waste" in the manual:

Open the Finisher front cover.
Pull out the Punch waste box carefully.

How to replace drum unit

open right cover, and front cover. Remove toner bottle assembly (not just bottle), unplug drum (photoconductor) connector. Press the gray/silver release tab and slide out drum. Install and plug in new unit, replace toner assembly, close covers, and the new unit is automatically detected and calibration will begin.
