Question about Mitsubishi WD-52725 52". Rear Projection HDTV
The picture was fine but after turning the power off and then on after about two hours the screen displayed a black and white checkered pattern across the entire screen. I contacted the store in which I purchased the tv and they referred me to a service center. The tech examined the problem and inspected the interior parts. he reported a damaged board (not sure if it was a motherboard or not) but did not record the item in question because paid the service fee and declined the repair charge/estimate of $800.00+ . He stated the part is roughly $400.00 - $450.00+ new. Any thoughts? I'd hat to discard a new TV or waste $800 if it will break again.
I had the same problem and had to replace the FMT board , Part #930B924001. My picture is now back.

This is what it sounds like a bad board. Check to see if you have Composite Video, Do you have a DVD player? If you do then look in back and see if you can hook up the component input(Y Pr Pb) to your set with component video cables. If you have color there then yes. The board is a 934C118001 part #. Check on it's price. Hope this helps
