black lines at both ends of print outs,ive cleaned it but the roller in the fixing unit looks a little worn on my oce3023 photocopier

Did you run a bunch of blank copies through and do the lines start to clear up? If so, that means the Upper fuser roller needs to be replaced. The coating is worn off and the toner is getting stuck on the metal of the roller and reprinting on the next page out. Good Luck
