Sharp DVHR480H - DVD are incompatable

my sharp HD recorder (DVHR480H) now says that all dvd are incompatable. Even the ones which played last week. I have done all the test that the manual says to do, but still no fix. I have still got to clean the lens. Will be done in next few days.

How easy is it to change DVD drive?
Is this the only option?

- my sharp HD recorder (DVHR480H) now says after 2 years, that all dvd are incompatable, have tried cleaning the lens.I have also looked at get a new driver, but the part cost £309 from the company mentioned in the manual!!!!
