Hi,
This is a common problem on the PS3 unfortunately and is caused by a faulty blue-ray drive. Unit will have to go back to Sony for service.

You should try a DVD cleaning disk first to be sure that dirt on the laser lense is not causing the issue.

You can also open the case and clean the laser lense with a Q Tip and an alcohol cleaning solution. If you plan on opening the case at any stage please ensure the unit is disconnected from its power supply.

If this fails and you are confident with electronics there are several videos on YouTube showing how to replace the drive if you choose to order it and do it yourself.

See an example below.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate my answer. Many Thanks.

Ps3 will not eject

The only way to force eject your ps3 disc is to hold down the eject button for up to 30 seconds.
You could try ejecting from within the PS3 menu,
You could try resetting your console by turning it off and then holding the power button down for 30 seconds.

Lots of PS3 owners have reported this issue, and the only common solution is to send it in to sony as your disc drive is broken.

I placed disk in the consule now it want eject what should I do?

Hi,
Shut off the console with the switch at the back. Press down and hold both the ejection button and the on button. While keeping them held down turn the system back on, but keep the eject button and on button depressed. In a few seconds the console should sound like a vacuum cleaner and the disc should come out.

Good Luck and have a nice day

I had a disc that would not eject. Held the eject button for ten seconds and it did finally eject but it will not accept discs now. I restored everything to default settings and im still having the issue.

Hello,

You can try the steps below. Its from PlayStation Forum:

1. Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold the power button down; the system will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via USB and then hit the PS button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.

The current Recovery Menu supports:
• Restart System: Restarts the PLAYSTATION®3 System.
• Restore Default Settings: Reset all system settings back to default.
• Restore File System: Checks for corrupt/missing system files.
• Rebuild Database2_bing.gif: Rebuilds the OS for the PLAYSTATION®3.
• Restore PS3 System: Fresh restore; Deletes everything and starts from Scratch.
• System Update: Update the PLAYSTATION®3 System

If the above steps still does not solve the problem, then I think will have to update your Ps32_bing.gif.

Update your PS3 (in the settings menu the 1st option).

Go on the internet browser on the PS3 then go on the menu press triangle then on one of them there are delete cookies and the delete the others as
well as cookies.

You could also try this as well: put the PS3 on then press the eject button (with no disc in) then hold it and switch the PS3 off at the back with your finger on the eject button still holding it, then put it back on and the fan test should be working this may cool it down. It might be over heating.

But if your problem is not still solved, then maybe you should call sony for further assistance.

I wish you good luck.

My PS3 wont turn on it just flashes a yellow light then red light that beeps cant get disc out

I found a way to eject the disk:
  1. Power off the PS3 on the main switch on the back of the console
  2. Press and hold the Eject button
  3. Turn on the main power switch
  4. The PS3 LED will go green and the fan will spin at max speed
  5. Wait a few seconds and press the eject button a couple of times, the disk should now eject
  6. watch the PS3 die after 30s or so…
This procedure did not fix my PS3 but at least I got my disk back before sending it to Sony for repair.

PS3 Blu Ray Drive won't eject

open that **** up,have similar problem, mine was caused because of a sticker on a dvd, couldnt find my warranty, and force eject wouldnt work,i was afraid to open the bluray drive completely, just to the point where i could manually eject the disc and found a round sticky mark on the disc, the sticker is probably still in there, but keeping the ps3 horizontally seems to help, your problem however could involve with the thingies in the driver not being propperly alligned

CD stuck in ps3 horrible noise cant get out HELP!!!

I had the same symptoms. The reason to my problem was that my 2 year old has pushed *three* disks into the console. I got them out through the following, admittedly pretty weird, approach: I hit the eject button, while gently prodding with another disk into the slot (at a slight upward angle). I could feel the disks inside the console rotating or vibrating as I was *gently* touching them with the fourth disk and hitting eject repeatedly. Somehow, the gentle prodding made one of the disk come out a bit, so I could pull it out easily. (I was pretty surprised when a second disk came out, and then a third.)
