Built-in DVD player

My Insignia 26-inch LCDTV has a built in DVD player on the back, however everytime I insert a disc the dvd player attempts to read the disc and make short noises, then says "No Disc" . Tv works fine. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem with my Insignia 19" DVD/LCD combo. I've left it powered down and it will allow me to Load and Open the DVD, but will not play. After a short time it then says No Signal, and stays on the blue screen.

Are you trying to play DVD's you've made or copied yourself or new one's you buy from an actual distributor? Because sometimes self-ripped Cd's & DVD's won't play on a LOT of DVD players. Otherwise it's bad DVD player and you should go get it swapped out if it's not too late.

Insignia with built in DVD player, 26 inch bought approximately 2008.DVD player won't read

Sounds like its laser pickup unit has got damaged. Contact any service technician to replace it. Have to take out its mechanism from the set, to replace this part. Daenyx TV DVD Player Error

You either have a dirty optical pickup or a bad one in the unit--it reads the disc.

They do make a cleaning disc but that is only 50-50 chance(sometimes a disc gets put in with some kind of residue on it)

If bad the built in player will cost more to fix/replace than a cheap external unit connected to rear inputs in place of it--this is the real issue with combo units--usually cheaply made etc.

My husband inserted a dvd into the dvd player of our insignia tv/dvd player. The player kept ejecting the dvd. Now the tv is stuck on dvd mode and will not respond to remote prompts.

#1 TRY AND UNPLUG THE UNIT. I HOPE YOU DIDNT BUY A TV/DVD COMBO.. THESE ARE WICKED $$$ to have fixed.. if it is never ever use the built in player ever again ! buy a stand alone unit from wamart for a few bucks and if it goes bad they fit well in the trash,.. so if it still isnt responding the back of the tv needs to come off WARNING if you break the screen the tv is junk, so sett it on a good flat spot , remove back, locate dvd player and un plug it from the tv.. this will take it out of the circut and with luck give you back control of the tv..

Hi my portable dvd player by insignia won't read

Try using a lens cleaner. Also, reset the unit to factory defaults. Ensure that the disk you are attempting to play is clean and scratch-free. If the problem persists, you may pursue service options through the place of purchase.

it's either your unit is not multi region or the disc you have inserted is unsupported format by your unit.
