Daewoo S04 DVD won't open

I can hear the motor run but it won't eject.

  • george_rumme Sep 03, 2009

To get the CD out I had to quickly push the manual eject and pry the front at the same time (I had the DVD unit removed).
The problem was the disk was stuck to the spindle, apparently the silicone reacted with the disk that was in the player for a long time and the motor was not strong enough to separate them when the spindle dropped. I as unable to get all of the goo off it so I applied some talk (powder) and it is working fine now.

The tray is blocked. Unplug and open the player's casing and check for any obstructions and remove it. It might be a disc or something. Check also the gear as you can hear the motor running but the tray don't open.Daewoo S04 DVD won't open - moz-screenshot.png

CD is stuck inside of a tv/dvd player

Try shutting the television off. With the unit turned off, hold the eject button and turn the unit back on. Continue holding the eject button for 30 seconds or until the DVD comes out.
If this doesn't work, try unplugging the TV for 5 minutes and attempting the above steps.
Hope this helps!

Ihave a Cyderhome dvd player, and i cannot get it to play. The green light on but cannot get the tray to open, what can i do ?

You seem to have two different problems. The tray won't open and a DVD won't play. First use the emergency eject slot on the bottom of the unit to eject the DVD. Now test the drawer by seeing if the drawer will auto close when you push the drawer closed without a DVD. If you hear the loading motor running but the drawer will not close than check the loading motor drive belt. Also check the 12V and 5V power supply outputs. Low voltages are caused by bad filter caps.

Unable to open the door of the dvd --when you press the eject button to open the slot---the door does not open---everything else works

Quick trick

First let's find out if the motor is dead or
the magnetic clamp is to strong for the motor.

Press eject then listen closely for the sounds of struggling motor
if you hear it trying SLAP the top right over the DVD drive
and that should break the magnetic seal and release the tray
you may have to try a few times Press eject and open hand slap kinda
hard the top of the DVD drive , don't worry you won't hurt it.

if that works email me and ill tell you how to fix this.

The door wont open for me to put in the dvd on our player

Put your ear against the dvd draw and press the Eject button, if you hear a noise of a motor spinning up then the belt is either worn so its slipping or has snapped, if you hear no noise then the disk tray loading motor or the driver chip on the mainboard has shorted out.
hope ths helps.

Eject botton does not respond

there is a tiny drive belt connecting a small motor to the loading tray.when they stretch, they run but do not open the door.if that is the case, putting your ear on the machine while hitting the eject button will enable you to hear the loading motor running inside.if you do not hear anything,it is a different problem
