Intel Media Series Intel G33 chipset micro atx no post no boot after crazy fan

I just build a new system with Intel mobo and core 2 duo 6750 cpu. After everyhting is in place, I turn the system on and no beep, the fan was running very fast and loud. I was afraid that the cpu was burn, so I immediately turn off the machine. after that I re sit the cpu and try to turn on the system.
Nothing happened, no beep, no post, no led light, no power to the fan.

is my cpu fired, or its just faulty mobo? I suspect its the mobo since there is no beep in the first place. But maybe I am wrong. Has anyone has the same problem?

Campus is giving you good advice. The only thing I'll add is that there are two power supply cables that connect to the motherboard. The first time I built a computer I did not realize this and I only plugged in the larger ATX cable. There is also a small square power supply cable. If you've already plugged them both in and you hear nothing when you turn on the power then the motherboard is probably bad.

Make sure you have seated all the cards properly, take them out and reseat them including the ram. Make sure your IDE cables are plugged in properly as well.
Restart the computer and if still no post then yes unfortunatly for you its the mobo =(

Try,,, You want a Core 2 Duo cpu fan oem (socket LGA 775). Should be able to get one around 10 dollars or so plus shipping. You can pay more for a bigger fan but you really would not need it. OEM will be just fine.

What is the best?

Thats not easy to tell....its all about money. But i will recomend you 3 verry good cpu:s that is not to expensive and worth the money.

1: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3,0GHz Box
2: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3,16GHz Box
3: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 2,5GHz Box

All of them are boxed, that means that you dont need to buy a separate fan

Good luck!

Which is a better processor?

The AMD Phenom x4 is actually cheaper with 4 cpu cores compaired to Core 2 duo which has 2 cpu cores, you will get a better deal for less money on a AMD x4.

Heres a chart you can look at,817.html

I just got myself the AMD Phenom 9650 for 150usd
The core 2 duo e6600, which I would recommend from the core duo series costs around 200 usd.

Note that the Duo only has 2 cpu cores. You get double the power on a phenom 4x with 4 cpu cores
So the phenom is definitely the best choise! (double the power for 50usd less)

Anything else?

E2180 Vs Athlon 64 X2 5000+

depends on what you plan to do with the cpu amd are good but a 3200 may only run @ 1.8 to 3.2 ghz depending while a intel 3200 will run 3.2 ghz.
I believe intel are more stable & run cooler than AMD but AMD benchmarks on Games better but run hotter (so get a good cooling fan & heatsink both pentium / celeron d & intel dou / dual core / core 2 dou and amd x2 have 2 cores (but watch your front side bus and cache the higher the better but the more $ also) then You need a good stable mobo that supports the chip you get (I preffer asus & msi for Gamers and biostar / msi for home users)

Difference b/w Core to duo and daul core

Core 2 Duo is a Brand name by intel to identify his class of Dual core CPU

a Dual core CPU is basically two CPU in one package, which dramatically improves performance over previous architectures.

Pentium Dual Core is another brand name by Intel to identify his new entry level CPU offer.Basically Pentium dual-core are similar to Core 2 Duos except they(pentiums) are slower and cheaper.
they both are dual core CPUs.
I would prefer a core 2 Duo having to choose a laptop because of better performance, but the prize is different for the two solutions.

Re aspire 7104 being upgraded to duo core processor

No it cant be updated

Your acer aspire is based on the 910GML chipset

The Mobile Intel® 910GML Express chipset is optimized for the Intel® Celeron® M processor.

Here you can compare the 910gml chipset and 945 which is used by the core 2 duo.,7419&familyID=7&culture=en-US

As you can see on the page there are key difrences between the chipsets other runs on ddr2, yours on ddr. the FSB support is 400 on yours and 533 / 667 on the 945.

also you can see the supported processor familys right there.

you can look for a
Intel® Celeron® M processor,
Intel® Celeron® M processor Ultra Low Voltage (ULV)

Upgrade cpu with maximum FSB of 400MHz

Cpu enquiry

There really is no difference, there are differences in the E numbers though. Those are specificallt about it's GHz's, it L1 and L2 cache.

Though Intel Core 2 Duo is the same as Intel Dual Core. It's just a different name. This confusion is caused because of Intel changing the names of it's processors series. The Pentium brandname for example is gone. Intel Pentium Dual Core is now called Intel Core 2 Duo.

I hope this answered your question.
