I have a Panasonic Workio DPCL21 color laser printer with "Jam 1"

For most of the Panasonic DP-8000 series multi-function printers, a J42 error indicates a paper jam in the paper exit/fuser area. I hope this helps. If the error persists, there may be a damaged sensor inside the printer. That is not something I can't help you solve.

Generally a paper misfeed is not a paper jam. The rubber pickyp rollers probably need a clean but turning the printer off for 10 minutes and turning back on should eliminate the message.

did you remove the back side to check and see if any piece is in there

If it is showing a paper jam and you do not see it then you need to look for a small piece of paper that might have ripped and is stuck in one of the sensors.

it is common error for dp-180/190.
and the usual cause of that are worn out 2 bushings of heat roller
what you can do with that is to clean the fuser unit esp. the bushings of heat roller.
well off course the safest way is to replace the whole fusing unit.

There is either a small piece of paper in your paper input section or you have a paper sensor going bad.

You might want to try to pull the drum out and reinstall it... that just might do the trick. If that doesnt work try opening every door on the printer and then close them.

Look for a small piece of paper remaining in the machine.
Also there may be a jam switch actuator that has fallen off.
