Cassette player connection

We have a car kit and it has been working fine for several months. Suddenly the cassette-player insert is being ejected after a few seconds. The player seems to want to find a direction to run a tape and, not finding a tape ejects the unit. This used to happen in some cars with CD-player car kits (back before built in CD players became4 common

sounds like a CD read error, try cleaning the laser lens with a CD clearner kit, they are cheap, if it still kicks out the CD then you will need to have it repaired or replaced.

Message - eject cassette

My mv830i developed this problem as I was going on my first training flight from Redhill Aerodrome and I was absolutely gutted! My moment of glory and the Canon refuses to accept the cassette. Had to resort to SD card recording. Did'nt get much footage using this method. Anyway on arriving home I sought out solutions from the Internet. I tried blowing any possible dirt from the cassette compartment but to no avail. Then I read about the 'drop it on the carpet' method. Instead of carpet, I tried an old shoe box. After about three attempts from nearly 1 metre - hey presto! It actually worked! The camera took the cassette and all was well again. How on earth this method of fixing was discovered is beyond me - but worked it did for me! Hope it does for you too.
