All the inks in my canon mp600 printer are working except for the cyan i did the maintance cleaning for clogs ink and it still does not work what could be the? problem help
Check the cleaning pad underneath where the heads park. Center the heads and remove the pad (wear rubber gloves--really messy!!!). Wash it out in detergent and hot water, rinse, and allow to dry out. Reinstall and try the head cleaning routine again. If still unsuccessful, replace the cartridge.

1. this is a clogged printer head 2. the only way to remedy this is to replace the printer head. 3. Here is a site that I ran across that give a general cleaning guide to clogged heads. http://www.crazysquirrel.com/diy/printer-head-cleaning.jspx
The print head is clogged.Try unclogging with cleaning tests in maintenance mode.If not help you can try unclogging manually.Warning!!!This can lead to damage of print head.Try it in last case.Open the cover and first remove the ink cartridges. Then open the holder and remove the print head.Run hot tap water and put the print head with the nozzles up to stream water.Hold that 5 mins then turn the print head around with the nozzles down.Hold that for every color of 5 mins. Then put the print head in hot water with the nozzles down.Left it water about 15 mins and then you must very nice to dry. When the print head dry put it in printer and start cleaning. If this not help you need to replace the print head.Call Canon for support.
I think the problm lies between the ink tank and the printhead. When this passage runs dry, sometimes it takes time for the ink to fill this passage again. Try printing again after a day or two.
I had the same problem. My mp630 is also only 4 months old. I replaced all colour ink cartrdiges(inc black), but was only able to release the function for detecting the ink levels for magenta and cyan. Yellow and black then started giving error message U043, with them alternating between working, but never working at the same time. Getting them all clicked in with the lights glowing red does not solve the problem, as once the printer cover is closed, the same error message turns up. The only thing that worked for me is moving the chip slightly out of alignment, by pushing the sliding chip holder, and I only had to do this twice before they all started working and the printer was unlocked.
Same problem - two solutions I found helped me work out mine. One said contacts needed to be cleaned and it worked to use a Q-tip and alcohol or just click it in position several times until it recognizes the cartridge - this may work. Another said that they got it to work by installing a brand new cartridge - cool, but I have one full of ink it won't recognize. So I pulled the little circuit board off a used cartridge (like you need to do with some refills) and put it on the cartridge that it wouldn't recogrnize - works great. Still haven't figured out how to get it to acknowledge ink levels though. Canon really should be more consumer friendly since these problems seem to be intended to compel the use of proprietary cartridges.
