Lid switch whirlpool ultimate care 2 heavy duty super capacity washing machine lid switch is broken. I want to repair it myself but don't know how to get to it. I heard that you can twist the two wires together but I don't know which wires and cannot access the lid switch
You will have to remove the back at least on the dryer , should be able to see up in there the switch and the 2 wires connected to it, yes just twist them together when you find them

The motor coupler may be broken. Many Whirlpool®-manufactured washers use a small, relatively inexpensive motor coupling. It's plastic and rubber and is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. You may need to replace it.
My whirlpool heavy duty 2 speed 7 cycle washer machine stopped working, It fills up and aggitates for the first cycle then when it should drain and spin it doesnt drain nor spin
Your lid switch could be the problem. It has 3 wires: black red which are hot and green which is ground. Unplug that lid switch and check for continuity between black and red with the lid shut. This video shows where the lid switch is located
Normally on top load machines open the lid and look toward the back hinge area inside the lid. It is usually on the back there. It may also be posted on a white sticker on the back of the machine.
