The same exact thing happened to me while playing World of Warcraft. Have either one of you found out if it was the game, or a hard drive issue?

Many things can cause the blue screen of death, including a hard drive malfunction. first question i have is this: do you get this blue screen while operating ANY other program (like Word, Excel, or a 3rd party software)? If you get this blue screen with other software, what is the name of the software and does it happen EVERY time? example: if you were playing "Doom 3" and got the blue screen at the same point in the game every time, it would suggest bad software code. If you only get the blue screen with THIS game, it could be the game code itself. Does someone else you know have a copy you can try? The executable instructions for this game may be trying to make adjustments to your computer's registry. this is another thing that can trigger the blue screen. the computer is pretty touchy about registry confogurations, and yes, a game can work on one model of a certain brand of computer, and have trouble on the same model of a certain brand of computer (the chipset may be different, for example). get back to me on if you see this all the time, or just with this game. my guess is if you are only having the trouble with THIS game, it is either an issue with the game, or with the registry. if you were having hard drive trouble, you would most likely see warnings when you boot the PC - or you wouldn't get to windows at all.

I play world of warcraft and it wont let me play

In your World of Warcraft directory you have a cfg folder and in it a cfg file. This has all your video settings. You will need to optimize these settings for your display type. Start off in a very low resolution with all your effects disabled. Set any sound effects to 0 as well. Now start the game and go into options. Set the rendering range low and disable other options as you can.

Turn them on a few at a time until slowly until you find what is tripping up your video card.

Well, i was playing World of Warcraft today, and randomly everything started lagging pretty hard, so i restarted my cpu, and now i can't even been on for 5 minutes without the computer freezing up...

if you keep reset on to your CPU this will affect to your Hard Drive. When your online games WOW very lag then do not let that online game on play to your Computer. You know or maybe your Computer are not enough to run this game. Check all the plug in play device which are capable to run this game. Your VGA Compatibility e.i AGP or PCI-E, Memory speed e.i DD1, DD2 & DDR3 and mostly Games Accelerator Programs.
Hope this tip might help you.
Good luck!

NVIDIA GeForce Go 7800 GTX for Dell XPS M170

Same problem with a different card - probably something else.

Games require lots of RAM. I would add as much as possible. I recommend crucial.com. They can automatically examine your PC online, and make suggestions. Cheap, fast, top quality. Been using them for years.

World of Warcraft Patch problem

Try these two solutions -

Try to move the World of Warcraft folder back to where it was originally installed and run the patch.

Or try this -
1. go to Macintosh HD => Users => Shared => Blizzard: delete the .plist file inside
2. launch the World of Warcraft game and let the patch go through again, download/patch

Good luck.
