Help.

I got the internet through my apartment complex over the weekend. They gave us the modem, not for sure which one of the Motorola surfboards it is excatly- they also gave us this cd.
My boyfriend hooked everything up, put the CD in, and started everything. It was going great- he checked his email, and then a pop up said something to the effect of- if you did not expect this message, then block it. So, he went and blocked it.
All of the sudden it will not let us connect with the internet. He has tried to mess around with a few things, but we don't know what we are doing really. We tried to just go to repair, and it says that we don't have an IP address. we tried rerunning the disk, and that will not work either.
I do not know what to do.
