Your Optic blog has failed. The bulb will not fix that. There was a class aciton lawsuit against Sony about this a few years ago. The Optic block must be replaced(only posibble fix) Sony Rear Projection LCD TV
To fix it out of pocket would be ridiculously expensive($800+). Return the lamp or use it until the image is too bad to watch. Then treat yourself to a new TV.
I am well versed on this issue and would not recommend fixing this
I work for a company where we take care of around 7,000 projectors. We have recently come across this same issue in this model and several other Hitachi models. We have figured out that it seems to be a main board issue, after testing and checking of the lenses and other things. The main board ended up being the fix. Hope this helps!
It would be more helpful if you could specify the problem a little better. Im going to go out on a limb and guess you mean there's a dark blob on the screen preventing you from seeing. If that is the case then your screen is damaged and there is nothing you can do. If you could even find someone to repair/replace the screen the cost would be greater than that of replacing the phone.
I'm sorry if this is the case, I wish there was a better solution. If you could post back with any additional info or questions I could be of further assistance. Thank you for choosing Fixya!
Recently, I had exactly the same problem on my VPl CX1 but also found the solution on the web. It is overheating. I cleaned the filter that is underneath the projector and also raised it slightly (resting on the lens cover and rear stand) for better air flow. Problem solved...at least for me.
