Go to this Asus site. Fill in the needed information on the right. This will than take you to your board. Download the manual.
Using the manual you will be able to set up your switches.
On the board and it is very hard to see. Every pin has a plus sign "+", that is the power. Black and some times white is ground. Other colors like red and green are "+".

Well it seems that Asus no longer shows the K7S5A Mb any longer but I do know how the cases HDD, power, reset & speaker connectors go. A strong fashlight will be needed.

Use the flashlight and you can see typing on the board for the pins. You will also see color coading at the base of the board where the pins Protrude. Each color is for a connector.

Asus boards are marked but hard to see. Two rows of pins located at the bottom right hand corner of MB. Starting with the bottom row of pins, the last two pins at right edge of the board. These two are for the RESET switch. The ground, "negative" wires will be colored Black or White. All negetive/ground wires will face to the right of both rows of board pins. All connectores connect left to right & not up & down across the rows. Moving to your left now, skip one pin. Connect the PWRSW known as the Power switch. The case connector is like the reset connector a two pin connector. Skip the next three pins on the board moving left & connect the hard drive led. This completes the bottom row of pins & connectors. Move to the top row board pins, directly above the IDE connector. Connecting again left to right, connect the PLED known as the Power Led. The PLED spans across three pins but you only use the two outer pins off the board. The middle pin is not used.

First pin "left edge" like the bottom is a Positive to its right skipping 1 pin is its negative. Next skip three pins moving to the right. The last four pins off the board is for a case speaker. Most case speakers connector is a four pin connector but only use the outter two holes. Ground is the last pin on the right edge of board. Long explaination I know but its the best one can do without a picture. All done.

I am working on a friends computer and he has a k7s5a pro Mobo..

Maybe it requires DDR2 or DDR3 RAM. As it is there are only 2 DIMM slots, so check the FSB. If it does not match asper the manual then you might need to replace the RAM with the appropriate one....sodeep

Hey Ya'll i have your motherboard K7S5A an i can get it to start up however when it loads it tells me hdd error hdd slave error but im not sure i have the wires for the hdd and power wires in the right...

Either the wires are not properly hooked up but more likely would be that you have the jumpers on the back of the hdd's improperly set. Hope this helps.

Rewire the motherboard k7s5a

well really you just have to put the wires to where they fix right. but for some wires, they look the same so you have to find a lable on the side of the wire and try to find the same lable on the motherboard. in some cases there are no lablings so it would be much hard to tell you how. but if thats the case i will do so.
