Question about MSI MS-1012 Notebook

1 Answer

LCd open in certain angles makes screen darker and sound disappear/noisy

After 14 month of usage - the lcd started getting darker when in certain open positions. I "fixed" it by changing the angle of the lcd - now it seems to be a lot more open positions that makes the display dark, and the sound too is disappearing or getting noisy when display is open in certain angles. I suspect bad wiring but I dont have a clue how to open the chassis without breaking it.

Faulty lcd screen connection elliptic pattern

if you loose picture when the "lid" is at certain angles it could be the LCD panel but I would lean more towards an LVDS cable issue (aka lcd cabkle).

Inspiron e1505 screen in darker on the right side

Thank you fr your query

From what you are describing it sounds like the LCD screen is starting to burn out

Please try the following

1) Switch on laptop
2) Continuously press the F8 key until a start up menu is presented
3) Chsoos safe mode from the options
4) Once safe mode has laoded up check the screen to see if it is still dark

I believe it will be.

If it is you will need to book the laptop into a reputable PC shop to replace LCD screen

Everything that displays on the screen now has a bluish hue and flickers at certain angles, model 3694

the lcd is starting to go bad it sounds like. Call Acer Support to get it serviced if your laptop is still under warranty.

If your laptop is not under warranty then you'll need to find a place to buy the lcd and get it replaced, this site has the screen for your laptop:

You can do a search thru google and find more as well.

Bottom 2/3 of screen has bars & bands

It sounds like the "data" connection between the motherboard and the LCD screen is "flaky". Open the screen a little more, or a little less, and see if the image corrects, as the screen rotates on its hinges.
But, this "flexing" is just a bypass, not a solution to the problem.

However, if it's less than one year old, it's still protected by the manufacturer's warranty.

The retail store that sold the computer to you may offer a "no-questions-asked" replacement of a "dud" computer. So, backup your personal files (to an external disk-drive or to a USB memory-stick) and then take your computer back, demonstrate the problem, and be insistent.

Some computer-stores (especially the smaller ones) will offer to "rent" a laptop computer to you -- they do it all the time for professional conferences -- for a short-term, while your computer is "away", visiting HP, and getting repaired.

Exercise your warranty, and be insistent in your demands.

LCD Display problem

From your description it sound like you have a faulty video cable or the video connector on the motherboard is loose.

I am not able to open my laptop, when I tried to open the screen it makes some noise as if something is getting crushed

If you are trying to disassemble the LCD screen and hear cracking sounds then - the crushing/cracking sound is most likely that you have cracked the LCD screen in several places. If you look at an acute angle you will see cracks in the LCD screen.
Replace screens are available at LCD Parts, they supply parts, repair service and DIY info. Use this link to their WEB site.

Zd8000 LCD no display

Sounds like your display went out to me. You may be able to replace it yourself, depending on your skill level/experience with electronic repairs. At any rate you'll need to find a reasonably priced replacement screen. I usually find New and Used ones on ebay and laptops for parts there and other internet classifieds and auction sites. You could also get a replacement through HP, but at an inflated price I'm sure. Since yours went out and it's not a simple repair, I would only consider a new replacement screen and after figuring the cost, resources that your laptop has compared to a new replacement, and time involved, only then would I determine whether it's worth repairing or not?

On the other hand, you could check the ribbon cable that connects the display to your Graphics card on the Board and re seat it to see if that cable has come loose causing your very dim display. My experience would lead me to expect the LCD to have run it's course though.

Happy tinkering and Good luck.
