Sorry maybe didn't explain this is a resturant griddle or grill that I have taken over. And this type of discoloration is not normal after just frying a few pieces of bacon or sausage, and it does cause the food to stick very bad. Of course it is sprayed with a cooking spray before use. Thanks for trying, but that is not the answer to my problem.

I am not sure this is made of cast iron. I have been told it is made of steel (ground or something) If I had anyway to know what it is made of that would be a help I am sure.

Busyone,is only one part of the griddle getting discolored?if so you most likely have a bad thermostat.otherwise i would agree what bob from li said.

I'm assuming you're speaking about a meat grill or another grill in contact with food. It is generally made of cast iron. This discoloration is normal and is caused by fats impregnating the grill. In practice, this will prevent sticking of food in the future. Grills should always be seasoned with a small amount of oil or fats and cooked on. They are cleaned with a mild soap solution after use but not scrubbed to a shine. If you do not like the look, simply wipe the grill with a small amount of cooking oil.

busy...my comment still stands. To that, I'll add that cooking sprays are not suitable for what you are doing. Some have low temp oils in them that oxidize. That's what you're seeing. You should be using commercial products which are made for grills. The other possibility...although low, is that you're overheating the grill.

What is the best way to clean the flat top griddle?

Wow that is a loaded question. Everybody seems to do it differently. I will give you my two cents. Start with a medium hot grill. Throw on a little clear water and steam off the bigger gunk and scrape it down. (I have heard that sprite or 7-up or ginger ale work real well here too). After that mix together about two cups of water (some people use cooking oil instead of water) and 3/4 to 1 cup of vinegar and pour that on slowly while scrubbing the grill with a Grill Brick (Lava Brick) This is where you are really doing the work. Scrub until clean -- may take a while. When done use a rag dampened with clean cooking oil to wipe down the grill and leave a little sheen on top.

No gas trough the 1/2 psi regulator

Hi,
If you have gas up to the regulator and not after it then you need to replace it.
I have taken them off and cleaned them with hot soapy water, dried throughly and reinstalled for a temporary fix, but do not recommend it for a long term.
Seems that the grease from the kitchen envioronment can get in there and gum them up causing them not to work over time.

How do i adjust oven pilot light on vulcan range

hi, there is an orfice for the oven located on the gas valve. If you are using LP gas, the orfice should be turn down all the way (counter clockwise). If you are using natural gas, the orfice should be turned out about 2-1/2 turns. Was this oven set up to be used with one gas and noe is being used with another? If so, you will need to do more then adjust orfices. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Go to page 9 and look at parts # 57 - 60 that is the part you need to change. You need to know the sea level that you are at though so you get the right part.
