i had the same problem with my acer 4315 just 6 moths old from new. at first i had thought that it was the screen. but it turned out to be defective mother board and contact points for the lcd screen. that is going to cost me usd250+ to get fix around here. so its now a door stopper. i am currently using a dell and i swear i wont even go near another acer product! good luck.

try plugging in another screen and see if that one works. If it does its the screen.
