Putting the belt over the motor shaft

"Pull the belt through the hole and put it over the motor spindle. Careful to make sure there is no twist in the belt. This can be difficult as there is plenty of tension on belt".
easy to say, hard to do.

i have worked, trying to install the belt over the motor shaft. i have spent hours. it is nigh unto impossible. it would be nice to have it "user-friendly". i have had to take it to a vacuum shop to have this done. i am trytng, yet again to install the replacement belt. (why do they break so often?). my unit gets minimal use. i must continually replace my belts. trying to stretch the belt over the motor shaft is excruciating.

The belt may be overloaded because something it is driving is jammed or partially siezed . It could be a bad bearing or string wrapped around the beater brush etc. Check that everything moves really freely before going through this again. Take it all apart and clean it good. Don't get any oil on the belt or pulleys, but make sure the bearings on anything thta turns is clear and lubricated.
