just double click on the volume icon from system tray ( right on taskbar -speaker appearance ) and check if you have mic volume ..or pink in ...if not click on options ..than on mic or ...pink in ...to show you the control for your mic...) ...after you have general ....wave ....etc...and mic volume ...check for not to be muted...and tel me how it is ... also try on yahoo messenger to be sure that the mic works ...not just sending signals...after you are sure that it works on yahoo that you know its something from AIM program ...and just reinstall or get a version full compatible with xp ...
This is not your fault, if their sound and their video is messed up then it is either the audio quality or it is because of their camera/audio setup. Hope I Helped!
Is your microphone integrated into your webcam? Make sure the correct device is selected. Go into Edit, Settings, Enhanced IM. Under Audio and Video, make sure the Microphone device selected is a functioning mic, such as Logitech Mic, or if using a headset, select the USB headset (if usb) or your sound card if using a mic plugged into your built in or add-on sound card.
You will have to set the logitech webcam up to the medium you are using yahoo...msn. This is done after the software is installed.I don't use yahoo but on msn open it up then go to tools on the msn page at the top above all your contacts.Open the tools and go to webcam setup, click on it and follow the steps. This will get the mic working. It took me awhile to realize you had to do it twice once for the software setup and again to set it up to mate to MSN.
You probably have multiple video cameras and AIM has defaulted the wrong one
on AIM:
1. go to edit
2. settings
3. enhanced im
4. audio & video
5. camera
6. choose something other than default
7. apply
8. repeat 1-7 until the image appears
