You probably solved this but others reading this, I have had a similar problem, superfast connection however Vista PC suffered very frequent dropouts. After some trouble shooting using various setting I narrowed it down to interference. I switched router to always operate on channel 13 (the far end of the band) and.....problem's gone. Everyone always operates at ch 1, 6 or 11. My guess is you dont want to be where evreyone else is. Good luck.
