Emachines desktop stopped booting to bios/windows I get a typical startup beep followed a few seconds later by two shorter beeps.

your board might not be on this list but it might give you some idea's of what to try next ( see link ) guess would be a bios flash which would mean getting on another pc/laptop,downloading the bios flash/save on a memory stick( or external hard drive ) boot pc while tapping F12 and scrolling down to boot from external ..but have a look here and see if anything helps...good luck

Biostar P4SXQ has an Audio problems, everything checked including 2 jumpers on audi pins and enabled in Bios, Yellow exclamation in Device Manager, Error Code 10

I would statr with uninstalling the audio drivers then reinstalling them.

Possible you may need to install the chipset drivers first. Then the audio drivers.

Have a Intell D865PERL getting either 6 or 7 beeps when booting, can't be sure which. System will not boot but just beep with PS2 keyboard installed but will boot with keyboard removed. BIOS is version...

It's likely a bad keyboard- try using either an usb keyboard or another ps2 keyboard- if it works and boots normally with a different keyboard, the issue was the bad keyboard. If not, then the ps2 port has gone bad. (you could still use usb)

Abit av8 bios post codes 8.3 - 8.6 - 9.c What is failing on boot ? I get one long beep followed by 4 short beeps. I have swapped video cards and reflashed the bios with no help. If I reboot 2 or 3...

I still did not find beep code that match your problem..

Anyways here are the common beep codes for your motherboard.. it might help you too.
1. No beep - no reaction, the mother board is dead, power supply problem, processor and or ram problem.
2. 1beep - board is working fine.
3. One long beep then it shuts down - cpu problem, your processor is not working or missing.
4. 1short beep - system boots normally
5. 2short beeps - CMOS setting error.
6. 1long 1short beep - dram error
7. 1long 2 short beep - video card or monitor not connected
8. 1long 3 short beep - keyboard error.
9. 1long 9short beep - ROM error
10. Long beep - memory card is missing or not connected
11. Short beep - power supply error
12 Four beeps - there is no fan detected on Fan1 or Fan2 header. make sure to attach or reset CMOS bios to factory setting.

Hope this gave you an idea of your problem..

Much appreciated if you rate this help..thanks..

I am getting three short beeps while booting

The beep codes below may help you identify the possible computer problems. However,
they are only for reference purposes. The situations might differ from case to case.
gAMI BIOS Beep Codes
*Computer gives 1 short beep when system boots successfully.
*Except for beep code 8, these codes are always fatal.
1 beep Refresh failure
2 beeps Parity error
3 beeps Base 64K memory failure
4 beeps Timer not operational
5 beeps Processor error
6 beeps 8042 - gate A20 failure
7 beeps Processor exception interrupt error
8 beeps Display memory read/write failure
9 beeps ROM checksum error
10 beeps CMOS shutdown register read/write error
11 beeps Cache memory bad
g AWARD BIOS Beep Codes
1 short: System boots successfully
2 short: CMOS setting error
1 long 1 short: DRAM or M/B error
1 long 2 short: Monitor or display card error
1 long 3 short: Keyboard error
1 long 9 short: BIOS ROM error
Continuous long beeps: DRAM error
Continuous short beeps: Power error

Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 short beep codes on cold boot. Tried reseating RAM, didn't help. system runs fine after beeping stops

Using the manual for the Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 MB. Go to page 71 & you'll see bios beep codes for your board: AWARD BIOS Beep Codes 1 short: System boots successfully 2 short: CMOS setting error 1 long 1 short: DRAM or M/B error 1 long 2 short: Monitor or display card error 1 long 3 short: Keyboard error 1 long 9 short: BIOS ROM error Continuous long beeps: DRAM error Continuous short beeps: Power error As you can see there isn't a code for three short beeps. When you boot your system try to pause your boot up screen. See if the bios is reporting the correct total of memory in your system. Bios codes from the link below. 3 beeps for the AMI bios code reports Base 64K RAM failure. You can test your memory. Go to Scroll down the site to just under the three screen shots. Download Memtest86+ V2.11 You have a choice in making a bootable floppy disk or a bootable CD-ROM disk. Once completed you boot your system to the testing program. Memtest will check your system memory. This should help. Thanks for using FixYa! Mike

ASUS P4S533-MX Motherboard

Does it have a built-in system beep buzzer? or else you need to connect one. The system beep has a code and will tell you if your video is not connected or your memory is not detected.
Try to make it boot even until the bios screen. Check your video card or your monitor connector. A single beep is a good sign that your motherboard has no problems. hope this helps
