Question about HP Compaq Presario V2000 Notebook
I recently replaced the fan in my laptop. Now I keep receiving this message when I start it up.Intel UNDlcopyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810X PCI fast Ethernel Controler V2.13(020326) PXE-E61:Media test failture, check cable PXL-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM
someone replied that I needed to reset something on the mother board but I don't know how to identify the nother board. Does anyone have a diagram or something that will help me.
I had the same problem with my v2000. HP Online check used to come up with the model 2300 CTO! and the warning this may not be your lap top. Then how can we trust their recommendations for the update softwares?
The problem I discovered is the cd drive in my case atleast. I replaced the cmos battery.
The CD drive fits rather loosely into the mother board. There are a couple of screws which holds the drive in place. If the drive has not been placed right you get this error. Especiallybecause you have to remove these screws to take the base cover off. Whats more a loose drive like this gives all kinds of errors including so and so file corrupt, setup cannot continue, press any key to exit etc during reinstallation of xp.
Hope this helps.

Its due to some changes in your laptop! If you have jus replace the fan then there should not be any changes except fan! I think your BIOS or some other hardwares are changed Plz see to that from where you have replaced the FAN! Becoz chaning fan doesnt need any other hardware to be changed! If other parts are changed then plz install all the necessary drivers!
