Cannon ir 5000 copier give me error e 0061 & e0069 what the problem and the solution

The E061 code means that the primary charge wire has not set up correctly. I could get more technical and say that the vl is to low. Which means the voltage in the light area is wrong. The E069 means that the transfer and delegation corona didn't set the CD which means voltage in the dark area. In laments terms the top corona and the bottom corona didn't function correctly. With that said this problem was wide spread when the machine got around 1000000 copies. So what has happened is that the lower corona unit arches out thus pulling current from the top so vl and vD could not set. They found that the lower bearing in the fused is ultimily the cause. Keep in mind both entire corona unit need to be replaced I think at 500k. But never done. I replaced every million or when I rebuilt fused . first fused will go 1000000 second about 750k.so it is important to maintain the fused unit. They I mean canon came out with a extra grounding method for the t/s unit.lower corona assembly.it didn't completely fix but helped. My suggestion is either replace entire upper and lower corona assemblies. Or remove clean look for voltage arch marks. You can smell the burn in the housing. A visual is sometimes hard to see . check your bearing if not replace in both upper and lower fused rollers I would rebuild . canon has a q/a kit with all that is needed. Rebuild fused replace both upper and lower corona units. This machine also has a pre-transfer assembly its about at 5 o'clock on the machine. It sometimes is just removed . It will still work your solids suffer on your prints. In a nut shell your leaking voltage in the bottom transfer and seperation unit. Isolate that and that's the fix. There all related. Great machine very strong frame I have seen 20,000,000 on this frame. I have also seen the best of technicians not fix this problem completely. The age of the
Fuser plays a big part in completely fixing this problem. Good luck you got a good one.
