Unlock Code for Sidekick 3

I've looked everywhere for the code to unlock my Sidekick 3 and I still haven't found anything. There are many sites that have these codes and tell you how to unlock the phone for a small price. Is this the only way to unlock the phone? Does anyone know how to actually unlock a Sidekick 3?

- Are you sure you know what you're talking about???

Because to my knowledge it is possible to do this. I have an unlocked iPhone that I used with T-Moblie and Verizon. I have a friend using an unlocked Sidekick 3 with Verizon, she bought it unlocked and we have also use it with AT&T.

that's not entirely true, the FCC laws were changed so that the service providers hafta give you unlock codes for portability.

ok the way to do it this jus lets u use text and calls i got cingular and i used my sidekick to txt and call here wat u gotta do

1. out sim card in
2. start phone
it will tell u sim card locked it needs special code(the code u get to pay for) juys exit outta that get to the main menu
3.hit the top letf menu button and go all the way down to sim center if u dont allready have a sim pin then enter a new one if u have one change it then ur phone should go from the big X to some bars and a hollow phone icon after you do that hit the menu button again and go to network options then go down and hit (SCAN AND SELECT MANULLY) then chose what ever carrier you have i have at&t so i chose it after a few seconds the hollowed out phone icone should be colored in and u can now text and call

i call customer service and they said that they wont give me the unlock# becasue its against the cmpany policy. so that mean that the sk3 can be unlock but they wont give you the code. i see some unlock sk3, n how come the policy change all of sudden. I want my sk3 to be unlock with a not by a expensive price. i see some out there for 80 buck n does it really work? any with anything please post it

You need a unlock code, I have done hundreds of them successfully, goto ANY SIDEKICK UNLOCK SOLUTION

(Please note that sidekick unlock will let you use SIM to make calls and text, this is permenant solution).

The Sidekick devices are specially made for T-Mobile, similar to the way that the iPhone only works with AT&T in the US. As such, it's not possible to unlock a Sidekick to work on another network. T-Mobile will give you a SIM subsidy unlock code for any of their other phones, assuming your account is eligible, but not for the Sidekick.

Any site claiming to be able to unlock your Sidekick is just a scam; or at best you risk breaking your phone by using any "hacks" they might provide.

- I used to work for T-Mobile in customer care, the department responsible for unlocking phones (ending about 6 months ago), and up through that time, they did not provide unlock codes for the Sidekick devices. If you already have one unlocked Sidekick, it was hacked -- the same way the iPhones must have been. T-Mobile has never unlocked a Sidekick nor sold one already unlocked, and neither AT&T nor Apple has sold a legally unlocked iPhone in the USA, nor have they provided any unlock codes to their customers.

Such hacks for the Sidekick (and those you might find for the iPhone) might work, but then again they might not -- if you choose to find and use one, that is entirely on you. You risk turning your phone into an expensive paperweight; and I can guarantee that T-Mobile will not replace your Sidekick if you turn it into a brick by trying to hack it.

Also, FixYa's terms of service prevent any expert from providing solutions that include links to "hacks" or anything else illegal (cell phone unlock hacks violate the DMCA). Therefore, my initial answer was the only appropriate response under FixYa's terms.

I have an Hardcable unlocked Sidesick 3.
With unlocking with the numbers, as soon as you turn off your phone or remove the battery, you will have tore-unlock the phone.

hold the 3 line button on the top left corner push the letter L. this will let you go into the main screen and use it as a phone and text. i had to do this when i bought my "unlocked" sidekick from ebay/ whenever you turn off the phone and turn it back on, you will have to do this.

Your phone IS unlocked, when it gets to the spot where is says activating, just press MENU + L

how to unlock a sidekick wit any carrer

hold f +u ...then go to options and wait 2 minutes
then go back to the main menu and hold u+c
then go to aim and on screen name write unlock
and as password put sidekick 3( or lx...or slide...jst put the sidekick u have)
and then...sing on...is supose to say wrong password...then turn of the sidekick...
and take out the battery...and ************

Ok call 1-800-331-0500, get customer service on the phone tell them you need to change your "IMIE Number" for an unlocked device.....worked great for me

FIRST TURN OF UR PHONE, THEN ON THEN WHILE ITS SERCHING FOR CONNECTION PRESS THE SETTING BUTTON THEN L, IT MIGHT WORK. IT DID FOR ME..........

I have the perfect solution. Visit They sell unlock codes for the sidekicks with the att network and also privac unlock codes forthe lx for low prices. Trust me I bought one :) Very helpful too.

We have tryed this up in canada you need to do a hard reset on the phone to clear off all the old brain power. We found a few good vidio's on you tube that had helped a lot.

I dont need to change to a different phone company. i have a sidekick 3 but im happy with t-mobile, i dont wanna change it although i do wanna unlock my phone because over the summer im going on vacation to russia and i wanna be able to use my phone there.

kall customer service.. they'll ask u for the code on ur sim card or under the batt. and they will give u the code to unlock ur sk3

i have a cingular sim card in a tmobile sidekick 3. i can make calls and everything but it still tells me that my sim is locked. and that i need the sim pin code for things like txt messaging. has anyone else ran into this problem? and does anyone have a solution for me?
